Before Alpha I had only a very basic understanding of God, Jesus and Christianity. I did not think the Christian faith was very important at all but I had a desire to learn more and have a further commitment to becoming a Christian. I always used to think that Christians were ‘do gooders’ and were only happy when preaching from the bible to non believers. I thought that God did exist but could not help us in our day to day lives and was only really there for us in the after life. As a person I could be quite reckless with my decision making process which often resulted in things going wrong or people becoming upset with me. Since attending Alpha, I have been more methodical in my approach to making decisions and have a much calmer approach which has led to better situations evolving as a result.

I came along to Alpha as I had so many questions about God, Jesus, the Bible and Christianity. I also wanted to be amongst like minded people from all walks of life that also shared this common theme.

I became a Christian by praying to God and asking for the Holy Spirit to be in my life. I asked for forgiveness for all the wrong I had ever done in my life and asked God to be with me and guide me in my day to day life. In order to pray this very special prayer, I had already decided that I needed God in my life so that my life would be complete and I could start to build a relationship with God.

Jesus is a very special part of my life and although he is not exclusive to me I feel that he is. Jesus is my closest friend and he never punishes me for any wrong I do but instead helps me to overcome challenges in my life. I think of Jesus everyday and the story’s I read of him in the Bible make me want to know even more of this great man.

Since I have become a Christian I believe my character has changed for the better. I certainly am calmer and I do not stress over what can not be achieved as much as I used to. I would like to think that I put others first even more than I used to and I put aside time when others need my help. My professional life has been influenced the most since becoming a Christian and my business continues to go from strength to strength. I have more commitment, enthusiasm, passion and faith in what I do on a daily basis in my business and I have God to thank for giving me a new direction in life
