As the end of the school year finishes the Faith & Football Extra Time literacy scheme reflects on an amazing year of success at final presentations across the country.
The presentations kicked off at St John’s Primary school in Portsmouth and continue through this week and next at further schools in Portsmouth, Plymouth and Birmingham.
Each group of children will be celebrating a year of accelerated progress in reading levels, heightened confidence and a real love of all the Bible stories which form the core of the scheme’s material. Parents have the joy of seeing and hearing their children read confidently and to hear from the individual Faith & Football reading mentors about the student’s achievement over the year. Every child receives a Bible – a treasured gift that they continue to read at home after their time with us.
“It’s incredible what progress can be achieved when children are offered one to one individual attention and help” commented Extra Time director Naomi Hargreaves
