DSC03969The Extra Time Literacy Scheme is soon to be starting again with this year seeing an extra 25 mentors go through the training and getting ready for the school's programme.  The Scheme is entering it's 6th year and is pleased to be starting in another new school, Langstone Infants.

The mentors are excited about the scheme and working with the children each week and the schools are in the process of selecting children to be involved.

This year 80 children will be receiving 1-2-1 support every week for the whole academic year.  They will be helped with their reading, confidence and general life skills that will benefit them at school and home.

The volunteers range from students right through to the retired, they come from a number of different congregations across the city and all with a passion to help children fulfil their potential in life.

The launches with the parents and children begin in the schools week commencing 8th October.
